15th winter school on mathematical

The AQFC has been an annual
international conference since 2013. The aim of the conference is to
feature the latest developments in the field of quantitative finance and
promote its research in Asia. It also hopes to bring together
researchers as well as practitioners on quantitative finance in Asia and
elsewhere and provide a platform for interaction and cooperation. There
will be plenary talks as well as contributed talks.
The DMV-Fachgruppe Stochastik organizes
jointly with the Ruhr-Universität Bochum the 12th German Probability and
Statistics Days 2016 – Bochumer Stochastik-Tage.
In the tradition of the previous conferences, this meeting provides an
international forum for presentation and discussion of new results in

Workshop Objectives and Topics
The objective of this workshop is to study new methods of statistical
inference based on information-theoretic methods.
Info-metric and Information-Theoretic ideas are being applied in variety
of disciplines, such as biology, ecology, economics, finance and
physics (for examples see Fall 2014 conference celebrating the fifth
anniversary of the Institute).
The Spring 2016 workshop focuses on the use of info-metric and
information-theoretic ideas in the development and

methods and mathematical analysis for nonspatial stochastic dynamical
models that arise in molecular biology. New
experimental techniques at a molecular level boosted the interest for
such models in recent years, for example for gene regulatory networks,
biochemical signaling and transduction cascades, molecular motors, and
morphogenesis.
Uncertainty quantification is critical
to achieving validated predictive computations in a wide range of
scientific and engineering applications. The field relies on a broad
range of mathematics and statistics foundations, with associated
algorithmic and computational development. This conference will bring
together mathematicians, statisticians, scientists, and engineers with
an interest in development and implementation of uncertainty
quantification methods.

Participants will be introduced to the discrete graph
theory methods and models of structured population as well as classical
continuous models based on differential equations. They will learn how
to use such methods and/or build and analyze models in the context of
the tutorial's topics and will work in small groups to experience how to
use the methodology to describe, simulate, and analyze the relevant
biological systems. Participants will be exposed to software that
implements the mathematical methods, aids visualization, and facilitates
computations and analyses. Participants will learn how the tutorial
materials may fit into mathematics and biology courses or be used as an
introduction to independent studies or undergraduate research.
The workshop presents recent results in
areas related to heavy tails, extremes and dependence, including topics
on a) weak convergence for heavy tailed dependent processes and time
series; b) stationary and stable processes; c) stable random fields; d)
regular variation and heavy tails; e) complex stochastic systems: random
matrices and random networks with heavy tails. The workshop will
feature 4 expository lectures by Gennady Samorodnitsky and Clément
Dombry on related background for graduate students and people interested
in these areas, and include around 20 talks on recent research advances
by well-established or young researchers. There are also a few open
problem sessions and a poster session. Funding opportunities are
available, with priority given to graduate students and junior
researchers.
The purpose of this meeting is to bring together
mathematicians, both regionally and globally, who have an interest in
probability and its applications.

SRC has a history of more than two

conference on Topological Data Analysis (TDA): Topology, Geometry and
Statistics. The conference will feature Professor Sayan Mukherjee from
Duke University as the principal lecturer, who will deliver a series of
tutorial lectures on TDA. Five additional featured speakers including
Professors Rabi Bhattacharya, Susan Holmes, Ann Lee, Lek-Heng Lim and
Yusu Wang, will give additional talks on topics such as TDA in Machine
learning, Statistics and Geometry, application of TDA in biomedical

The workshop, which is jointly organized
by Humboldt University Berlin and Technical University Berlin, provides
a forum for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and young faculty
members from all over the world to discuss their research in an informal
atmosphere.
This interdisciplinary workshop will
bring together scientists from integral geometry, geometric probability,
geometric measure theory, stochastic geometry, stereology, applied
probability, spatial statistics and bioimaging. An important scope of
the workshop is to discuss recent theoretical advances in stochastic
geometry and their potential for applications.

After five groundbreaking conferences at Penn State,
Statistical Challenges in Modern Astronomy VI will be held at Carnegie
Mellon University, June 6 to 10, 2016. This meeting will continue the
interdisciplinary tradition of its predecessors, bringing together
researchers in astronomy, cosmology, statistics, and machine learning
to facilitate progress on the significant data analysis challenges that

The conference on Algebraic Statistics
is one of 4 MRCs for early-career mathematicians run by the American
Mathematical Society. Funded by NSF, MRCs foster the formation of
self-sustaining cohorts of mathematical scientists centered on research

room, and board at the conference site and supports subsequent travel to
the Joint Mathematics Meetings and a limited number of follow-up

Seminars on Stability Problems for

The International Symposium on Forecasting (ISF) is the

This conference is held in memory of
Evarist Giné (1944-2015), who was an influential, brilliant and prolific
contributor to modern probability theory and mathematical statistics,
with a focus on problems arising in infinite-dimensional settings. His
work has had a profound impact on modern probability theory,
mathematical statistics and recently also machine learning.
The workshop will highlight recent activities in the areas Evarist
worked in, as well as memorial sessions to celebrate his mathematical

This four-day series of academic
workshops addresses algorithmic and statistical challenges in modern
large-scale data analysis. The goals of this series of workshops are to
explore novel techniques for modeling and analyzing massive,
high-dimensional, and non-linearly structured scientific and internet

The Institute of Mathematical Statistics Asia Pacific
Rim Meeting series promotes interaction and networking among

The Barcelona Summer School on
Stochastic Analysis is a one-week scientific activity consisting mainly
of courses addressed to PhD students and young researchers on current
research topics in Stochastic Analysis. Selected participants are also

The primary purpose of the Sixth
IMS-FIPS Workshop is to bring together a global cast of leading academic
experts, practitioners and junior researchers to share research that

Our 2.5-day workshop will bring
together a diverse group of faculty from the field of algebraic and
discrete mathematical biology to address the need to develop educational
resources by: 1) surveying existing educational resources in discrete
and algebraic mathematical biology; 2) identifying topics appropriate
for undergraduates not yet featured in the existing literature; 3)
identifying target courses in the mathematics and biology curricula that
would benefit most from featuring those topics; 4) initiating the
development of new curricular materials and ultimately publishing the
materials for those topics; 5) facilitating the growth of a community of
faculty actively involved in creating and using curricular resources
for algebraic mathematical biology.
The 3 day conference will run from
August 8th to 10th and will have 9 invited sessions, contributed
sessions and 3 plenary speakers: Regina Liu (Rutgers University, USA),

theory in the field of evolutionary quantitative genetics and its
connections to evolution observed at various time scales.

The field of nonlinear statistics (NS)

conferences on small area estimation that have been organized annually
at different places around the world. It will give researchers and
practitioners from all over the world an opportunity to exchange
information or learn about state-of-the-art small area estimation
techniques. So far small area estimation has predominantly been an

The Climate Informatics workshop series,
now in its sixth year, seeks to bring together researchers from all of
these areas. We aim to stimulate the discussion of new ideas, foster new
collaborations, grow the climate informatics community, and thus
accelerate discovery across disciplinary boundaries. Since earth system
sciences can be brought to bear on the study of climate, the scope of
the workshop also includes data science approaches to problems at the
nexus of climate and the earth system sciences.
The 7th CEQURA Conference on Advances in
Financial and Insurance Risk Management, organized by the Society for
Financial and Insurance Econometrics and in collaboration with the
Montreal Institute of Structured Products and Derivatives and the
Bayerisches Finanz Zentrum, provides a platform for presenting and

The Workshop on Higher-Order Asymptotics
and Post-Selection Inference (WHOA-PSI) seeks to showcase the exciting
new ideas coming out of the post-selection inference framework and
investigate how tools from higher-order asymptotics can both elucidate
important properties of post-selection inference procedures, as well as
suggest new directions which may ultimately yield more accurate
small-sample performance.

European R users meeting (eRum) is an
international conference that aims at integrating users of the R
language. eRum 2016 will be a good chance to exchange experiences,
broaden knowledge on R and collaborate. One can participate in eRum
2016: (1) with a regular oral presentation, (2) with a lightning talk,
(3) with a poster presentation, (4) or attending without presentation or
poster. Due to space available at the conference venue, organizers set

conservation potential of genomics research, and ensure that genetic and
non-genetic factors are considered in quantitative fashion when

The Latin American Congress of
Probability and Mathematical Statistics (CLAPEM) is the main event in
probability and statistics in the region, having been held roughly every
two or three years for almost 30 years. It is organized under the
auspices of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and
Probability and the SLAPEM (Latin-American Society on Probability and
Mathematical Statistics). On this ocassion the event is organized by the

The 23rd Australian Statistical Conference which is to
be held in conjunction with the 14th Australasian Data Mining Conference
(AusDM) and the 9th Australian Conference on Teaching Statistics
(OZCOTS) will provide unique insight into statistics, data mining and

support from International Society for Business and Industrial
Statistics.
The three-day Conference being organized
by Department of Statistics, Calcutta University to celebrate its
Platinum Jubilee in 2016, will offer a common platform to statisticians
engaged in applied research, to interact and exchange ideas. The main
focus will lie on:

(ii) Survey sampling and official statistics
(iii) Biostatistics
(iv) Applications of Statistics in Soocial Sciences
(v) Applications of Statistics in Industry
(vi) Applications of Statistics in Physical Sciences
